to many scientists, leaving unfinished work and ideas in the open seems as reckless as leaving your debit card and password at a busy atm machine.. canton is part of a peaceful insurgency in science that is beginning to pry open an endeavor that still communicates its cutting-edge discoveries in much the same way it has since ben franklin was experimenting with lightning.

"Only active "jw's will survive armageddon"....a list please.......

i find it interesting that jw's so often think they are in full harmony with all wt teachings, but in reality, they have softend a tough jw position in there own mind.

for instance, a close jw friend of mine....my age....actually told me he did not think wt ever said that only jw's will survive armageddon!!!!

of course this is because he does not want to think of billions of good decent people that are not dubs dying....i believed that way....and my elder dad does too.

Well, now you know what a talisman is!

Whenever you feel down on yourself, just look back at those books, and they instantly remind you of your might, strength, perseverance, etc.

There is also the study group 2-3 per book thing. It can work, but only for people with the unique combination of different study schedules that can mesh together to share the books.

Several of the professors say they are rip-offs. Several of my undergraduate and graduate school professors were textbook authors.

One of mine in grad school is in his ninth edition or more, and is putting his daughter through college on his royalties. I won't give his area of expertise, because it would narrow it down to like a dozen people or less, and I don't want to put him on blast like that.

I would have still been out, but far more bitter. I wouldn't have found out that what I thought was just some local elder problems was actually worldwide, and a sign of systemic failure.

There are tricks to navigating the waters.

Talk to the professors. Find out if they are using a new edition or not. Talk to people currently in the class. Offer to "split the difference." You will give them more than what the book store will give, but less than what the book store would charge you. X them out.
